Academy Acrylic
A line of 48 brilliant process colors, metallic and iridescent colors, as well as the most sought after traditional colors comprise the improved line of Grumbacher Academy® Acrylics. All colors have an ASTM lightfast rating of 1- Excellent and are labeled AP. Academy Acrylics are highly pigmented and have superior tinting strength, but at a single student price. Available in 90 ml metal tubes and 75 & 200 ml plastic tubes. Made in the USA.
Pre-tested Professional Oil
Pre-tested has long stood for professional quality oil color at an affordable price. The name itself means that it has been tested by human hands before it ever reaches the retail shelf. Each color swatch has been tested for masstone and mixability, and has been painted by hand in the USA.

Max Water Mixable Oil
Max is one of the first water mixable oils. A professional line of 59 colors, Grumbacher Max water mixable oil colors are solvent free and thin and clean up with water, but maintain the chroma, workability and lightfastness like a traditional oil color. Max oils employ the same finely ground pigments and superior quality linseed oil as our renown Pre-tested paints, and dry at a comparable rate.
Academy Watercolor
A collegiate line of 60 watercolor paints at an affordable price. Only finely ground pigments are used in making this smooth, rich paint. Either straight from the tube or when mixed with white, strokes and washes are vibrant and luminescent. All colors conform to ASTM D 4236 and are labeled AP. Made in the USA

8 Earth Tone Mixes to Inspire Your Next Project
Extend your primary colors to make earth tones with a life-giving vibe all their own! Whether light or deep, earth tones are complex and gorgeous with subtle undertones and mood-setting qualities. In this example, we use watercolors to make our earth tone swatches, but these colors can also be rendered in oil paint or acrylics.
The palette in this video consists of Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Medium, and Thalo Blue. Our paper selection for this project is the Grumbacher Watercolor 8×8 Pad cut down into four pieces for our swatches. As an alternative, you can use our pads with the In & Out feature to make a swatch outside of the pad and to return it back into the binding to create a swatch journal.
