Julianna is a professional painter working in the Philadelphia area. She was trained as a designer at the Russian State Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the years, her work has progressed along a variety of paths, most recently including a series of skull-like creatures mixed with various imaginary period costumes and locales.  Most of her technique is self-taught as she has moved on to work in a variety of new media during the intervening years including oils, acrylics and watercolor. Julianna likes to make surrealistic and fantastic imagery that alludes to a broader narrative context. She tries not to spell out too much for the viewer with the hope that the images she creates serve as a touchstone for people’s respective imaginations. Her work has been shown in a variety of galleries along the East Coast of the United States, and her illustrations have been purchased by clients as diverse as Lenox® and Heavy Metal®.

Julianna uses Grumbacher Gloss Varnish, Copal Medium and Oil Painting Medium III.
